ABSTRACT

Over the past few years, technology adoption in education has increased significantly. Most universities like to invest in modern forms of learning, therefore it can be seen for the rapid growth of e-learning. This study aims to determine a comprehensive model in determining online learning student satisfaction during the Covid-19 pandemic with the role of gender as moderation. The sample in this study was 239 Binus Online Learning students. The data analysis technique in this study used a structural equation model (Structural Equation Modeling, SEM) with SmartPLS 3 software. The results of this study found that instructor empathy, higher education reputation, and system quality had a significant influence on student satisfaction, especially in the context of online learning on Binus Online Learning which simply used high technology to support the Learning Management System. Gender has no role in moderating exogenous to endogenous constructs in this research model, so it can be said that the technology used in Binus Online Learning has high student satisfaction because the system is good enough to carry out online learning. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Cibodas village is one of the villages in the regency of West Bandung, which shows potential for agrotourism and a creative economy. However, the dynamic environmental changes in the post-COVID-19 era have presented challenges to developing these economic potentials. Therefore, creating a model to develop agrotourism and a creative economy in Cibodas village is necessary. This study aims to create a system dynamics model with a causal loop diagram (CLD) based on the village innovation system framework to develop the agrotourism-creative economy in Cibodas village. Both qualitative and quantitative approaches are used to identify the main variables and to develop and review the CLD. The quantitative approach provides researchers with three main variables that must be involved in the study, namely, the general innovation infrastructure, specific industrial clusters, and intermediation. The three variables are interrelated and form a CLD. The formed CLD was further explored with a qualitative approach in the form of an in-depth interview and focus group discussions (FGDs) with several key informants: the Head of the Agronative Cooperative, the Head of Cibodas Village, and the Regency Tourism and Culture Office (Disparbud) of West Bandung. Based on the results of the scenario for the existing conditions for a 24-month period, it was found that the innovation infrastructure variables had increased by 10.94% and the intermediation variables had increased by 0.22%. The simulations were carried out by increasing the intermediation intervention twice as much as that of the existing conditions. Hence, the innovation infrastructure variables increased by 18.01% and the intermediation variables increased by 0.05%. Cibodas village would take advantage of these R & D products to help its creative economy actors produce more products having a high-selling value. Moreover, by employing this strategy, they could also help their creative economy actors increase the absorption of an innovation to have such a high competitiveness.

ABSTRACT

Food security in a just energy transition is a growing debate about designing sustainable food secure networks worldwide. Energy transition, land-use change, and food security are crucial factors for food security and provision. The increased demand for food products and customer preferences regarding food safety provide various issues for the current agriculture food supply chain (AFSC). Along with rising sustainability concerns, strict government regulation, food security, and traceability concerns compel managers, business houses, and practitioners working in AFSC to adopt new tools, techniques, and methodologies to model current food supply chain problems. Thus, in turn, design the food logistics network for food security. Hence, this study investigates the core determinants of food security and supply in Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and Lebanon over the period of 2010–2019. In order to estimate the objectives of the study, we employ the fully modified ordinary least square (FMOLS) and dynamic ordinary least squares estimators (DOLS) to draw the study findings. However, the estimated results show a negative association of land use with food security and supply. Likewise, energy transition, gross domestic product, and agricultural value added (AVA) contribute to the food security supply. In contrast, urbanization's negative but insignificant contribution to the food supply in selected economies exists. Besides, another core objective of the study is to investigate the moderate role of the energy transition on the gross domestic product, agriculture sector, and land use and find the significant contribution to the food supply. However, the current study also tries forecasting for the next 10 years and employs the impulse response function (IRF) and variance decomposition analysis (VDA). Congruently, this study uses the pairwise panel causality test and finds exciting outcomes. The COVID-19 crisis has posed challenges such as energy consumption and food security issues. On behalf of the results, the current study proposes imperative policies to investigate the desired level of food supply. The findings provide valuable insights for experts, policymakers, and officials to take practical measures for energy use and food security challenges. ABSTRACT

This study aimed to investigate the public awareness, use, and acceptability of the Sehha, Mawid, and Tetamman mobile health applications during the COVID-19 pandemic in Saudi Arabia. A cross-sectional online study was conducted using a conve-nience sample of 554 participants from the Riyadh and Makkah regions during the lock-down in May 2020. One-third of the respondents were aware of all three apps (31.1%). Participants used the mobile health apps most frequently to obtain information about COVID-19, book appointments and audio-video consultations, and as a COVID-19 symp-toms checker. However, their use for self-isolation app for location monitoring or to check COVID-19 lab results were insufficient as intended. A comparison of the number of downloads to actual users showed that the user rates were 42.6%, 87.2%, and 91.54% for the Tetamman, Sehha, and Mawid apps, respectively. The overall acceptance rates for the Mawid and Tetamman apps were 4.21±0.62 vs. 4.22±0.58, while the Sehha app reported a moderate mean score 3.73±1.20. The lowest subscale was related to the reliability 2.18±2.09, 2.38±2.16 and 4.40±0.65 for Mawid, Sehha and Tetamman, respec-tively, while the learnability scale ranged from 4.04±1.28, 4.44±0.54, and 4.52±0.67 in the Sehha, Tetamman and Mawid, respectively. Despite the low usage of some mHealth functions, we identify a positive attitude towards the mHealth apps’ acceptability. Hence, it is possible to improve their usage by increasing the public’s trust in these apps in Saudi Arabia. © 2022 ICIC International.
